Monetisating My Game

Disaster Slap Tower

In this blog, I’m going to talk about the steps I took to try and monetise my hard work.

If you haven’t seen the previous blog, go ahead and check it out by clicking here.

Gamepasses

Gamepasses are the main way I’ve set up monetisation for my game.

They give players permanent tools that make their experience much more enjoyable without tipping the balance of the game.

When I was designing these passes, I focused on maximising trolling without making it feel pay-to-win or unfair to other players.

Rainbow Carpet

This is an iconic gamepass that is universally recognisable on the Roblox platform. It’s a magical flying rainbow carpet that leaves a trail behind you.

The advantage this gives to the player is being able to zip right back up after being slapped off the tower, however, the player must be wary of the cooldown.

You can’t fly too long, otherwise you’ll get kicked right off and plummet all the way back down to the beginning.

Admin

This is self-explanatory, but has a few catches.

This does not grant the player full adminstrative priveleges, similar to a moderator or true admin.

This only allows the player to execute a select few commands on other players, which does not severely impact their experience

The admin can execute a few more commands on themselves, such as :fly or :fling, but those are only limited to the target being themself, as to prevent admin abuse and ruining the experience of other players.

Gravity Coil

This is also another iconic piece of Roblox history. A classic gear that is known by both OG and newer players.

This item’s gimmick is simple. Once equipped, your gravity is lowered! This allows the player to jump twice as high, and this item’s effect is amplified by the Low Gravity Event that can be triggered

Slap Hand Gamepasses

Some of the gamepasses in my game will unloock special slap hands that can’t be earned through normal gameplay – although this is subject to change.

These hands give players unique effects with cool visuals and extra slapping power or range.

Giant Hand

This is a stronger version of the default hand that has a larger hitbox, and slightly more powerful hit strength

This means that more players can get caught in it’s radius, and if you’re unfortunate enough to be in its range, the consequences are much more severe!

Golden Hand

This has the hitbox of a regular hand, but is 3 times as strong. This will fling players over the horizon with one smack!

Rainbow Hand

This hand is the most expensive one, and rightfully so.

I combined the best of both the giant, and golden hand. This hand’s hitbox is both larger, and the slap strength is MUCH higher, sending players flying across the tower and back if hit

Conclusion

Overall, monetising Disaster Slap Tower isn’t just about making revenue (although it is a large factor), it’s also about adding value to player experience.

Each purchase is designed to be fun and rewarding, but also fair.

The goal is simple: let the community support the game while also ensuring that everyone can equally enjoy the chaos of the tower!
